Redwood National Park

Orick, CA 95555
(707) 464-6101

Description:

Home to an ancient grove of trees, a visit to Redwood National Park feels like a visit to prehistoric times. These ancient redwood trees, which can live up to 2,000 years, grow to 367 feet high and are up to 22 feet wide at the base, are protected from extinction only by this park and the redwood state parks that dot the area. Once home to Native Americans who made their lives among these towering trees, the forest is still home to a variety of wild species that can sometimes be glimpsed as you walk along the park paths. Located just inland from the Pacific Ocean, this national park is about 44 miles south of Crescent City.
